Being fairly new to riding and an avid reader of comments made on this forum, it never ceases to amaze me of the vast differences of member's opinions on the same subject/product which in many cases are contrary to manufacturer's claims of performance. Having said all that, it only reinforces the old saying that "opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one".
With regard to tires, my advice is to ride on the brand YOU are most comfortable with which will vary with YOUR bike/style of riding. They are the most important piece of equipment on your bike. There aren't that many choices and the prices are comparable so trying to save money is not an issue. With regard to the comment about MoCo doing it right in selecting Dunlops, the only thing they did right was set up a marketing agreement ($$$) to have the HD name put on the sidewalls of their tires. No different than tee shirts or underwear.
I switched to metzeler 880 (130/90 front, 150/80 rear) because I wanted to try something different to form my own opinion. I think they are better than Dunlops so far, but it is early yet. We'll see, I reserve the right to change again!
Reverend Pete will end this thread now, but just remember, it is your a** on that bike, no one else's.
