I don't recall, but, are there replacement cam shoes available for the late model hyd. adjusters ('07 up)?
Just the shoes, not the entire assembly?

I just changed mine. As Brad stated, you have to buy the entire assemblies - inner & outer.  I paid about $29 each from Zanotti.

I am in the motor making it a "103, Lozano Brothers head work, Superetrapp 2:1 exhaust, HPI reworked throttle body, Woods lifters, etc.  As long as I was in it, I thought it prudent to replace a relatively inexpensive wear item so I could go a little longer before I had to get into the cam case again. (actually I HATE removing and installing exhaust's!)  There was minimal wear to the shoes, they could have gone a lot longer, but as I said, now with new ones I can go that much longer.  Wanted to get a look at the oil pump also - it is fine.

 I did the Andrews 54 cams, the SE cam plate, GMR adjustable pushrods, and TTS last summer. The tensioners were fine, and the runout was .002.  Had my fingers crossed this time, and the runout is still .002!

Sorry to ramble, to answer your question - I replaced them because I was in the cam chest anyway...

I just changed mine. As Brad stated, you have to buy the entire assemblies - inner & outer.  I paid about $29 each from Zanotti.

They had about 14,000 on them - very minimal wear grooves, maybe 1/32" deep.

just changed mine at some 16.000 m for similar reasons, engine disassembled anyway. Just ever so slight wear detectable. But from the 103 I know wear is progressive

I can tell you that these new style tensioner shoes look a WHOLE lot better at 14,000 miles than the old style looked at 8,000 miles in my '04.

Thanks for the mileage inof. I just wonder if anyone has a recommendation to change them just as a "maintaince item". Maybe some of the guys that have changed cams at say 30k or  40K miles could comment on the condition of their cam chain tensioners. I think that would give a lot of us piece of mind if we plan on leaving our cams alone. Just knowing that you had 14k with very minimal wear grooves is a relief. The only reason I would ask other people to chime in is because on the old style cam chain tensioners some would last a long time and some would detonate at say 18 thousand miles.Thanks in advance for any additional input. it may help you to have a look at this site It's in German but if you scroll down the thread you will find 2 sheets showing the various reports they collected over the years mileage ("Kilometerleistung") is in km and wear ("Verschleiß") is in mm.

There are no reports of significant wear on models after 07 so far - but neither with mileages above 40.000 km (25.000 m). But with the earlier models significant wear had been reported several times even below that mileage.
