Pardon me if this has been addressed previously, but I couldn't find anything is a search....has anyone here ever run the SE Pro mufflers part # 65115-98B.  I think they're still available until 5/31...I'm getting the SE A/C with the K&N (rolling my own...the dealer has no problem getting me the parts), chrome backplate, etc.  I would like something other than the stock mufflers, but don't want anything really loud...just a "throaty, deep sound"....my thinking is that they would be a warrantied item, would be better than stock, not as expensive as the whole pipe system from Rinehart or V&H...a comprimise......but,I have never heard them, nor do I know what, if any, improvements they would make in power/torque. Thanks in advance!!!

I've run those (65115's) on two different scooters and they sound great and were easily tuned to get rid of any popping, etc. Previously I ran V & H and tuner could never get the tuning right with them. Running Rineharts now, and love them but they are louder than the SE's for sure. If I were running SE pipes again, those would be the ones. IMHO.

Horsepower is how fast you hit a wall.Torque is how far you will take the wall with you.

Terry,
I ran those mufflers before going to the Rineharts.  They sound good and the bonus is you can get a download for the ECM from H-D without having to buy the SERT.  I ran that way for about a year before going to the Rineharts.  When I went to the Rineharts and the SERT, I did see a HUGE improvement.

Thanks guys....that is what I was wanting to hear!  So, sounds like that's another item for my list.  Any other opinions are welcome!

tcnbham,

If you have not made up your mind on the SE Pro Mufflers.

I have a complete set of Freedom Cycle Rhinehart True Duals with only 3,000 miles on them and in excellent shape. I am selling for$599.00, plus shippimg from Phoenix.

I'm running them on my 'melon and like them just fine.  Had them on my previous bike also.  Sound a little deeper and louder on this bike but probably because the 103 is pushing more air.  Added the K&N filter in my stock air box plus the SERT with #36 map.  Bike runs great and sounds so much better.

I know a lot of you like the Rinehart true duals and/or the Freedom Cycles package.  I was just afraid those would be too loud for the Mrs.  Never heard the Freedom pipes but the Rineharts I've heard are definitely louder than the SE 65115.

If you don't mind my asking:  Why are you letting them go?  What are you replacing them with?

Ultrafxr,

I am building a Jims 120 c/w reworked SBC Vortec Heads, S&S 640G cam, Wild Thing 57mm Throttle Body with larger injectors. So will try a 2:1.

The 2:1 is a RB Racing LSR Blackhole, not as loud as Thunderheader, and a great pipe for larges engines. which will be in Phoenix begiing of May.

I liked the Freedom Cycle Pipes and only reason is to try the LSR Pipe.

I just went with this config (plus SERT) and am very pleased. It sounds great and has eliminated the rough cold idle problem as well as the occasional pinging (detonation).

My a$$ (dyno) seems to detect a performance boost somewhat as well. I had these pipes on my RK and liked them which is why I went with them.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
