Route Recommendation south through Nevada
« on: June 23, 2011, 12:24:08 AM »

If a person was considering an alternative to I-15 from Twin Falls, Idaho to Las Vegas, would the ride south on US 93 through Nevada be worthwhile; other recommendations? TIA.  :2vrolijk_21:

I93 is very desolate & good for a head down, get there quick as you can ride. I recommend taking the scenic route...Idaho, Utah, Nevada

Take your time on 93, enjoy the solitude, and be prepared for cold temps up around Ely, happened to us last Aug!
We'll be on that road again this Aug. :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for the pointers.  :2vrolijk_21:

I’ve been through Nevada, during record July heat. I’m surprised that every motorcycle in the State isn’t heading up to Ely during the summer months!

Speaking of cool weather riding; I replaced my previous Gerbing controller with a 2 zone mounted unit that is fixed to the machine instead of your pocket. Works pretty good; less crap to pack; less clutter under the jacket; easier to make fine adjustments; I’m liken’ it so far. This thing can be found at warmnsafe.com.

I’m having a little trouble with the concept of riding through Nevada with the heated gear cranked-up but I’ll be ready!  :smilie_staub:
