Is it covered?
« on: June 27, 2011, 02:02:52 PM »

Any chance that a extended warranty with the wheel & tire option will cover peeling chrome on wheels?

You'd have to read the warranty....  but I don't see why not.

Could be completely mistaken here.  But thought I remembered the service contracts covering mechanical and not cosmetic failures.

A wheel can be bent/damaged by impact with a pothole or curb (road hazard), it could develop a leak or a fatigue crack or some other physical problem that made it unable to be used for it's main purpose.  Those things would normally be covered.  However, cosmetic stuff that doesn't keep the wheel from holding air has never been covered to my knowledge.  Harley is even getting really chicken chit about chrome peeling during the factory two year warranty, forcing folks to fight them tooth and nail by blaming the owner or unspecified environmental factors rather than admit their plating sucks.  When you buy products from such a company, be prepared to get screwed repeatedly until you buy something else.  Such is the Harley experience, IMHO.

Sad, but true.  Nearly any other company with the level of customer service this one has wouldn't be around very long.  Okay, the phone company when they were the only one, the DMV because you have no choice, but otherwise.
