I assume you're talking about a Batwing fairing (edited...I see you have an SG)?  If so, not only do you have to take the fairing off, you've got to remove the radio (from the rear), remove the ignition switch, remove the lower inner fairing (switch housing), and you will likely need some ball type allen sockets/wrenches to get to two of the bolts.  If you are changing the bars, count on a full day of work.  If you're just adjusting them, a couple of hours.

You can get to the front two by just removing the radio, I'm pretty sure (been a while since I did this), but you've got to take the fairing off and pull the radio from the rear.  It's got a rubber gasket around the radio, so it's snug.  Save yourself some cussing and get a set of the ball head allens...you'll need them to remove the bolts on the side of the radio where it bolts to the support brackets.  There are 4 bolts, two of which are a bitch to put back in.  Just hold your mouth right... :huepfenlol2:

The radio bolts needn't be all that bad.  Need two tools.  The ball allen T-handle or some other long shafted ball allen tool and a pair of long forceps.  Use the forceps to catch the bolts coming out and to hold them close to the holes for the allen tool when getting started.

What are you doing with long forceps laying around the garage?  I don't really want to know... :o ;D ;)

I've used forceps and tweezers of various lengths and angles for years.  Even before I wacked the finger half way off :huepfenlol2: !

Have done that.  For the difficult pair of radio bolts they still fall off sometimes though.  Just more handy with the forceps.  Not that this suggests anything....  ???
