TT Mastertune Question
« on: July 08, 2011, 08:44:12 PM »

May be a dumb question but...

I did the Fullsac Stage I and II kits and am using Steve's map. I'm getting some pinging at low throttle from 2500-3000 RPM range. Steve told me to "Start by pulling 2 deg of timming out between 2500 and 3250 and between 50 and 80 KPA. move slowly."

Which Tables do I make this change in?  In the Spark Advance Front and Rear Cyl Tables?  I asked Steve who has been great, but is REALLY jammed and I'd like to play with some changes this weekend..

If it's not a fuel issue I would do a spark data run to see where it is showing knock retard. Could be front cylinder, rear cylinder or spark temperature table.

Thanks!  Steve actually just emailed me to confirm it is the spark advance tables he was referring to.

This is really the correct way to find the knock and address it. Data logging requires a lap top on the bike. Cylinder temps can also be reviewed and
factored in allowing changes is the spark temp correction table. If your bike only pings on hot days, this is really the table were you want to pull the timing
from factoring the head temps as well as load and RPM. The TTS manuel has good technical explanations reguarding this tables and how to use them.
