So HOGMIKE have you specifically used the George's cam bearing puller?
I obviously don't want to force the puller in the old bearing...so I would think collapse it so it just slides in.
But then to get the spreader rod in will require some tapping from a hammer.  Not probably too much, but just wanted to hear somebody who has done it before say that is the
correct way to do it.
Thanks

Greg...sent you a pm.

I just push it in the old bearing, it will squeeze together, nice and snug. The rod will go in with just a little light tapping. Guess I never did think about it too much, but, was easy out and easy in with the proper tools.
I DID freeze the new bearings and used some oil to get them to slide back in easy.  :nixweiss:

I had the same issue with George's tools.  Had to compress the puller slightly to get it in the old bearing then tap-tap the rod in.  Didn't have to use enough force to cause me any concern, not going to reuse the bearing anyway.  The original bearing are firmly in the case!  Freezing the new bearing is a good idea but not necessary.

Just an update the heartland bearing puller worked flawless.  Removing and installing the inner bearings has been a concern for me...turns out it was one the easiest tasks of the cam install.

I looked at the Heartland tools. They look pretty good. Good to hear that they worked well too.
