Swapping Out My CVO Paint Set
« on: May 26, 2006, 05:46:21 AM »

I might swap out my CVO paint set for a while and go with something different. If I go this route, I would replace the following:

Front Fender, Front Fairing, Lower Fairings, Tank, Side Covers,  Saddle Bag Bottoms/Lids, Rear Fender

It would be interesting to me to see the following paint set on an Ultra; hopefully it wouldn’t end up looking like a piece of shi$. What are your thoughts?

You'd stand out in a crowd for sure! I'm partial to vintage nose art on aircraft so I think it would be cool.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] What kind of $$ are we talking here for a complete set??

Around $8,400… The set also comes with a tour pack, but don’t think I would install it. The tour pack in this fighter plane/bomber theme on an Ultra might be a little overwhelming and detract from the overall look. Too much of a good thing.

Here is the URL:

I might have it installed before Maggie Valley.

They are in Phoenix, AZ… I will see if there are any CVO forum members in that area.

I personally would not swap out tins on a Screamin Eagle bike. That is one of the reasons I paid soo much for the bike to begin with,if I wanted a custom painted bike that was not done by the MOCO I would have started with a stardard bike and built up.
But I do agree with your right to do so if you wish. ;D

I do like the paint set you have shown and always thought of doing my old Fatboy like that but never got around to it.
I would think if the artist who did the tins all at once could look at the overall flow and make an Ultra look like all the parts flow together as one not just a big pile of parts it could really look great! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
Good luck with your project. :)

I've got to agree as well that the bomber set may be too much on a bagger. The real flame paint scheme's they have look great [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

As has been stated this may be too much on a bagger, like you I would want to see it on one before making the purchase (especially at that price that's a lot of chrome and go fast money ;D ). One thing I can say that I agree w/you on is if you do want to change the look of your CVO it's best to buy a complete new set of tins. For purposes down the road I think you will get more for you bike if you decide to get rid of it if you have the original tins. This will make it still a CVO/Special Edition/Limited Production (how limited we'll never know ::) ) and retain value.
