Rattling headlight trim ring???

Tried searching,  but nada...

The headlight trim ring on my 08 serk rattles like hell.  Its only connected by a bottom screw and a top clip...   Shakes up and down and side to side..... 

Hd says its normal.....

Is the rubber missing from the inside of the trim ring?  Mine all fit snug with the rubber being tight aroung the headlight.

Never had any rubber... Hmmmm.  This is he dual beam one....   Dealer stole the rubber?  I dont show it in the parts catalog?

deaf1, If you can't get a replacement ring I suggest silicone for the repair. Mask off the area's where you don't want to get silicone on. Put enough silicone where needed on headlight ringto fill gap that is causing vibration. Before pressing into place put vaseline on the part of headlight the silicone is going to touch.Reinstall headlight ring. Wait at least 24 hours, remove your headlight ring and whatever you have masked off. Clean area that has the vaselline on it and reinstall headlight ring. I have used this method before on various things and it works fine. CAHDBIKER

I used a piece of the one sided insulation that you use around an air conditioner sold in home depot. it has tape on one side and some foam about 1/2 inch thick on the other works great

put the tape under the ring on the housing then put the ring over it

I had the same issue with my 08 SERK I also did the one sided foam.  Rattled like heck before I put the tape on.
