Differences between 2005 103" and 2006 103"
« on: March 14, 2011, 01:17:29 PM »

Title pretty much sums up the question. Are there any differences between the 05 and 06 103 "A" engines?
Thanks,
Phil

One difference is the 05 has the older style rod ends and the 06 has the newer tapered rod ends,so the pistons are different also. The heads, cylinder and cams are the same.

The throttle body changed from a separate TB and intake manifold to the new one piece version, and the injectors were changed to a different style.  The cylinder head intake ports and sealing flanges also changed, and the exhaust ports changed.  Nothing special.

And this is a significant difference.  The 05 style rod end is preferred, in my opinion...   :2vrolijk_21:  (the head ports are different too...)
