A (drive-off) center stand removes the high/low side problem, and also helps with the fully-loaded-lift-it-off-the-side-stand and 'dropping the bike when BSR gets on' problems.  I have a WheelDock drive-off center stand--works great.  Since it's a drive-off (rear wheel still on ground), you can put it down while you're still on the bike; makes for easy off-load too.  One last benefit: can sit on the bike and throw feet on hwy pegs to listen to tunes and drink beer on the level.
