have a 2010. installed a Boom Audio system last september. it is a  4 speaker system and  has amp. lately  it has isssues with  volume.  also will distort  now and again.  this systme is rather expensive  to be honest..
when you turn the volume up  it will increase the volume, until you hit halfwya point or a tad past. the  if you try to turn it up the bars  showe it should be getting louder. it does not get louder, just the volume bars  show up that it does  if it were getting louder. uded to continue to get loud  till recently. now it has some kind of issue. amp maybe?
 is there  a way to diognose the radio for codes. if so, can someone point me in the right direction.

I have the Hog system and just recently had trouble with the sound being distorted at 30-40 mph.  The dealer found the connections to the amp, radio, and speakers need to be crimped or tighten down and it took care of the problem.  You might check the connections, hope this helps.

i guess that could be a problem.  what bike do you have?? mine is the  ultra limited.
