Fork install
« on: August 18, 2011, 08:10:26 AM »

Whats the proper way to install the front forks, I put mine back in and the bars are not straight when going down the road, they are at a slight right position. Or is this a different problem going on? It was fine before I pulled the forks out.

I installed the Progressive monotubes in my SERG last Friday.   That of course involved removing and disassembling the front forks.  Assuming that you reinstalled the forks correctly (I have no clue how you could not), I cannot understand why the handlebars would no longer be straight.  It was not necessary to loosen of the handlebars for this install.  I assume you did not.  If you did, that could be the source of your problem.  Can you give us any more facts?

I have no idea why this is, I did this to many of my bikes. I did take the handlebars off so I could get at the upper fork caps with a socket.

Has anything changed with the fork lowers in the past couple of years?
