Unclaimed Property 'could mean $$$'
« on: August 23, 2011, 11:30:38 PM »

Yesterday evening i got a letter from Pettinato & Associates, an Unclaimed Asset Recovery Law Firm, advising i have unclaimed assets held by the California Consumer Affairs valued over $1,656. Of course they were soliciting their service to get this money for me for a 10% contingency fee. Thinking i could get around the firm and contingency fee, I got on my computer and Googled California Consumer Affairs recovery assest and found the Calif Recovery Claims web site;  http://scoweb.sco.ca.gov/UCP/ and easily found all the assest owed to me. I filled out the simple form downloaded off their site and mailed it off today, within 30 days I'll have $1,656, which i labeled 'help money' to complete my Jims 131 rebuild  :pepper:. After i got done with my business i searched my siblings and found the State is holding $230 for one of my brothers and $410 for my deceased father.  I never had known anything about the Unclaimed Property funds so thought i would share the California site with this board, Im sure a lot of you living in California, like me, have money just waiting for you to claim.. I also Googled other states and found they too had the same or similar recovery claim programs, just Google 'your state' Consumer Affairs Assest recovery.. I hope you all are as lucky as i and find some $$ waiting for you to claim... good luck   :2vrolijk_21:
