electric corbin seat hook up
« on: September 18, 2011, 12:06:00 PM »

Hey guys,
I recently picked up a used Corbin solo electric seat for my 11 cvo flhx2 and was wondering where to hook up the wiring harness
for the seat. It has a male sealed ( it's the shape of a "m" at the tip of the plug ) type plug. I checked under the seat and there is just the square
acc plug that I have my tour pack spoiler hooked up to and some odd looking grey plug with possibly one red wire going into it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about the connector on the seat itself, when you buy it new it comes with the mating connector which has bare wires on the end for connection directly to the fuse box. This way the seat can be quickly disconnected from the bike. Ask the person you bought the seat from for the other 1/2 of the connector.

Dave....I'm not sure if the SESG has the seat connector, but it wouldn't hurt to look.  It will look like the AUX connector.  If it's there, it will likely be down in the "black hole" in front of the battery.  If it's not, you can either wire directly to the fuse panel, or get a Y splitter from HD and operate both the seat and the TP from the Aux pigtail.  Corbin can furnish you with the male connector, or you can make one.  Just make sure the Aux fuse can carry the extra load.

Thanks TCnBham, I checked for the connector and there is none, I already have the y splitter, that's a great idea and I can get the
wiring from the dealer alot faster.

Terry, I assume you're talking about the plug/recepticle similar to the one that's on the battery tenders?  That's what Corbin used on the older seats however, it's a different type of plug/recepticle that came on my wife's 09 Street Glde Corbin seat and my 2010 SESG Corbin seat.

Dave, you should have a model number engraved into the bottom of the seat pan.  Call Corbin in Hollister and they'll get you a pigtail. :2vrolijk_21:
