Mobil 1 dried up
« on: September 13, 2011, 03:34:54 PM »

My long time source for Mobil 1 15 w 50 synthetic oil is no more.  The local Wal-Mart stores have stopped stocking that weight & do not know if it will ever be offered again.  A 5 quart container cost just $23 (only $4.60 per qt), at the local auto parts store its $38.  Where are you guys who use Mobil 1 getting yours?  How much are you paying?

Go to the site below, change the store to your area, look for the oil you want, if it says not available at you store click on the check other stores button. The Mobil 1 20W-50 isn't available at my local store, but it available in a town close by that I go to quite ofter, so I just think ahead, (if you can imagine that!) and pick it up before I need it.

If you have a NAPA auto parts store near you, they are running a sale on Mobil 1, including the 15w50, for $5.98 a quart.  That's about as good a price as I've seen lately.  And yes, it appears most Wally Worlds are phasing out the 15w50.  Probably had to open up more shelf space for the newer fuel saving products, like 0w20, 5w20, etc.

Your probably better off running the 20W50 anyway.  15 is a little thin for Alabama, IMO.
