Lights in Guages
« on: October 18, 2006, 05:29:52 PM »

I have the Spun Aluminum guages in my bike and when riding at night or in the morning I have noticed that the RED LED 's that are inthe speedo and tack are realy nicely light up in Red, However the smaller guages with the incandesent bulbs abd the red prophulactics are kind of a pastel red...
To say the least they look like, well you get the idea...
Question here is "Has anyone tryed anything else in the LED form to have the standard bulbs replaced with something different? I was hoping for some LED's to realy make the guages light up but dont know which LED dealer has them...
Thanks

Paul,
Check out this thread - Fuel gauge went dark!. You can see where a member replaced/upgraded the bulbs in the gauges.

I recently replace the bulbs on my 04 SEEG which appeared to have dimmed a bit with new stock ones.  What a difference that made but if I remmber right they where $7.00 or so each.

From his post I'm going to think they were stock ones from Moco....

My bad
I suppose if I slowed down and read the remark rather tyhen spped reading it might answer all my questions...
Thanks
As fas as change colors in guages yes they can be changed, however the speedo and tach heve LED's in there about 11 each or so and they all need to be replaced  then you have to find some incandesent bulbs for the other 4 smaller guages in the color you want and then you'll have somewhat on what your looking fotr...
There is a member on one of the other sites I frequent that has perfected the changing of the LED's to various colors and I think he'll change the radio color as well...
I saw a pic somewhere with the radio face in blue and the guages in blue also and it looked really cool...
he's also able to put a colored face in there and add a different color needle and if you desire you can have yet a different color milage readout...
he's done blue faces with red needles and all blue with red milage reader also...if interested PM me and I'll try and send a link if the forun here will allow me to sent another forums link...
