Brother, we appreciate your comments to those of us who have served. Not to dimenish that sentiment I must let you know that the first 4 photos are from the movie "Stealth" and that aircraft does not exist and Kara is a movie actress. Awesome plane though and it would be cool if it was real. I for one really enjoyed the flick...especially since it had a late model GTO in it. The rest of the presentation is awesome and thanks for posting.

Cheers,
Wayne

That would be cool Keith and a summer run to CDA would be awesome. I was going to mention on your land photos that I used to live in Orofino back when Dworshak Dam and fish hatchery was being built. Dad was the Swingshift carpenter sup and it was a great time to live there. Moved back to Colorado after that project but wound up in Hermiston, OR area from 78-2004 (more military home of record than anything else). I remember back in 72 my job as tail flag car when Dad pulled our 12X65 Marlette (we built up a 53 Chevy COE 2-1/2 ton as a toter) over Hiway 12 and down White Bird hill. Funny thing is I was 15 1/2 and once I got back to CO I got stopped for looking too young and couldn't drive for 6 months.

Have a great evening!

Carriers have a new catapult system coming, electro-magnetic.
Designed and tested right here in my area.

Wow, that's amazing. One thing not mentioned is a huge reduction in flight deck heat. It gets mighty toasty out in the Gulf working on an aircraft over a hot cat. Even though they have the steam shut down all that metal holds heat for a long time. I allowed myself to get dehydrated and it all came to a boil (pun intended) when I was working on the nose of a plane and I found myself in medical with an IV in my arm. Sounds like they are using a modified form of maglev developed for trains. Very cool idea!
