Speed Wobble
« on: March 20, 2012, 05:46:24 PM »

I experienced an intense speed wobble this past weekend and I've looked over the items I understand that could contribute to wobble. I've checked the tires and wheels, tire pressures, wheel weights, motor mounts, I tried as I read suggested going 50mph on a level road and the bike tracks true and even. I'm taking the bike into the dealer this evening to have the wheel balance checked so what else should I have them check? I plan to ask them to look over everything that could be an issue, I'll ask them to check the neck bearings also. I have a '10 SE street glide and I've not had one issue with it at highway speed prior to this but I almost lost it for a couple minutes there...

I got back up to speed and it seemed fine, could have been just the right (or wrong) combination of road, speed etc.

I would still have them check the fall away on those neck bearings, just in case.  Its just me, I'd have to know or I'd always wonder about it.
