I was watching one of the cable biker shows ( American Thunder ? ) the other night and this guy made a big deal of mentioning that his 26 years of riding experience did not include riding a dirt bike without a license. Evidently this guy has something against dirt bikes. I personally think that it's a hell of a lot harder to ride a motorcycle on a road surface that is usually anything but solid. I would not exchange the foundation of having ridden dirt for anything.
Anyway, in order to maintain the integrity of the great site and not open us up to critics calling us a bunch of blowhards, I need to publicly correct my having claimed 40 years of riding experience and downgrade that to 35, since the first 5 years were without a license. Not that I didn't ride on public roads, but I did not posses a valid State of Maine Driver's License with an endorsement for motorcycles till I was 17. ( as I remember, you couldn't get a motorcycle endorsement at 16)
So, in case the bozo on the idiot box happens to read this, I stand corrected. [smiley=soapbox.gif]
