New Bike is in Transit
« on: January 04, 2012, 06:00:10 PM »

Dealer called today and my orange '12 SEUC is on the truck and on it's way....will be here Friday or Monday (finally!!!)   They gave me my VIN number.

I will post pix when  get it.  I'm going to break it in first and then have the pipes (TBD) installed at the 1000 mile checkup.  Still trying to decide on pipes.  If I go with the Fullsac Sleeper kit with 2" cores my dealer reminded me that if we have to do warranty work that requires a MOCO rep's inspection then we won't have the hardware to return to stock.  That made me think that maybe I should do different slip-ons with the Fullsac header pipe so that I can, indeed, return the system to stock if needed.  I do like the looks of the stock pipes though....  decisions decisions

I like these quandaries ......feels like the first time as I said in several other posts.

Thoughts?   Maybe I should consider V&H true dual systems

Cheers,

HD

I had the same thoughts about the ability to return to stock if needed. I just surfed ebay until I found a pair of stock 2011 take-off mufflers so that way I can modify a set and keep a set for later use if needed. The fullsac header and 2" cores are what's planned this winter for the FLHTCUSE6.

Personally, I think you dealer is just trying to sell you a bill of goods.

But.....you could buy a set of take offs here on this forum.  I believe anything 10 and up with fit.

I was leaning towards Full Sac and hear great things about them, but in the end decided on Vance & Hines Power Duels and Monster Ovals and absolutely love the sound and looks on the bike. Just my 2cents.

My dealer installs Fullsac and have never had a problem with a factory rep wanting to go back to stock.

Another $.02:   Lot's of members have gone the Fullsac route and I don't recall reading of a single problem with the system nor any HD warranty issues.   I agree the stock pipes look great and I'd be more worried about being pulled over for a non compliant exhaust than any warranty issue.

My dealer will install and tune Fullsac, including the cores, he was just looking out for me in case the "worst" would happen and a rep would have to "investigate".  Chances are slim, I know, but I didn't think of it that way.  Snagging a set of stock ones that were "take-offs" is a good idea.  Let me know if anyone comes across some as I've decided to go that route.  (At least the Fullsac route....I may procrastinate the stocks purchase if I get around to it)

Have had mine for a month now and have 1000 mile on it. Went with the VH "X" header and 4" high performance pipes. Sounds great and not a loud as my Reinhardts. As a mater of fact my salesman at the dealer just put his in the shop for the same system on his Limited. He was impressed with looks, sound and performance. Get it done before it leaves the shop or make the deal on delivery. Breaking it in with the pipes on it isn't a issue. My was tuned and on the Dino before it left the dealer.

You want to keep the 2 pipe look??  Then Vance & Hines Power Duels with Kuryakyn Crusher Mufflers.  If not, then D & D Fat Cat 2-1 or with or without a ghost  :nixweiss:
