Motorcycle hitch that can be removed!
« on: August 09, 2012, 12:21:16 PM »

Hello All,
Considering a trailer, but would like to have a hitch that I could remove so as if it was never there, so the Bike Warranty issue never comes up.
Any Thoughts, on Trailer,........and hitch application for this?

This is going on an 11 Street Glide,.......don't need much additional space, so for this I am considering a single wheel uni-go, but not firm on that yet.
Thanks,.......Sawyerghost

First comment
Go Bushtec and you will never regret it.
Second,
Any hitch that's strong enough to tow a trailer will not be a simple detachable hitch.
The Bushtec hitch insert removes in minutes but the hitch remain there.
Then there is the wiring harness for any trailer that will have to come off if it goes to a dealer.

We all want our cake and to be able to eat it also, but when on the road taking a hitch off is tough. Plus, what do you do with the trailer.

Hi Chip,
I know you are right on this, however,.....it doesn't hurt to test the wealth of knowledge out there with our CVO members.
I welcome any additional thoughts as well.

I'm with you there!
A detachable hitch would be great.

Let's just say that I "had" a hitch on my bike at all.

If I did, I would want to remove it before every service.  It might take me 1 hour and 15 minutes, including putting away all of the tools and doing a quick wash on the bike while it's up on the jack.

Just sayin'

On another note, I'm dropping my bike off for 60K service this afternoon.  I have a lifetime service plan with my dealer.
