Harley's Engineering folley's..

Is it really necessary to design a stock air intake that requires 2 different sized Allen wrenches AND a Torx bit, just to clean the air filter???

Hey, we all make mistakes!   :huepfenlol2:

I laugh at many follies here.

If we're to keep this as a RG Ultra topic.  What other RG Ultra design follies can members think of?    :nixweiss:

I have not used the liquid vac but Jiffy Lube used to offer (pre my '09) an oil service with a similar device.  They also offered Mobil 1 MC oil.  Can't recall the type of filter.  Price was so cheap I could not pass up.  Seemed to work great.

I have used the "flat" style oil drain pan and like it.  After use, wipe excess oil in with paper towel then clean with Simple Green.  Not perfect but the best one I've seen.

For the filter, I use a quart size, plastic bottle that I cut in half lengthwise (top to bottom).  Again, not perfect but works.  Was recently advised to use that with a plastic bag over the bottle.  That ought to work!

Just my $.02.  Hope it helps.

Back to SERGU follies -

4.5mm deepwell socket necessary to adjust headlights

Windshield screws into rubber plugs and no matter what, they feel loose.  I try not to think of it at 85mph

Fairing alignment tabs without a positive mating connection

Radio oriented so it cannot be read at night - made worse by the dim backloght

Ridiculously dim soft key illumination...ok thats beyond just SERGUs.  But still.

Oh well

Gripes notwithstanding, it is an awesome bike!!!
