There are some low flatbeds that have actually gotten stuck because their trailer dragged on some of the humps in the road.  The problem is that coming in from the South/East the hwy is fairly straight, level, with no issues...then you start climbing the mountain and you're screwed, with no place to turn around.  There are signs posted well before that point, however.  There have been some issues with just a long bed pickup pulling a large size boat/trailer crossing the center line in curves and bikes/cars running into the boat trailer.  Really, nothing over about 35' long needs to be on the road there, IMO.  I would be puckered up driving a 30' motorhome through those curves... :nervous:

In the 90's before I every heard of the Dragon or lived in TN I was going from Charleston SC to MI to Lake Cumberland KY to meet up for a week camping with my Parents.  I was driving a Crew Cab Dually long bed with a 36 foot travel trailer in tow.  I-40 was closed.  The shortest route I could find on my Atlas was US-129.  That was a white knuckle, nerve racking experience, not one bit of fun.  I made it with out incident.  It took me all the rest of the way to KY before I realized, though I swore I would never tow a trailer on that road again that it would be a great motorcycle road.  I was hating the road to much for the first three hours after getting off it to realize it was great for a motorcycle.
