Adding tour Pak Lights
« on: February 23, 2012, 08:28:50 AM »

If I add tour pak lights ( Part numbers 67931-11, 54352-09, 68271-08) and  purchase y connector 70264-94A because I am using my other accessory plug to heat my seat. If I plug the tour pak light into the accessory plug with the Y connector will the light work? I think they will but would any Turn signal or brake lights work?

Thanks Barry

That accessory plug is not going to help you with the tour pack lights as turns/brakes.

To get turn/brakes, you have to get power from the rear taillight plug that connects under the seat.   About where a backrest bracket would be.

Harley has a connector that plugs in there and then goes back to the tourpack lights.

If I purchase part number 69200042A, is it coreect in saying I would not need the y connector.   Why do the Tour pak light/ Brake / turn  say all wiring included? Do this part come with the tour pak light or i have to buy it Saparately?

Add high-mount turn signals, running and brake lamps to your Classic and Ultra King Tour-Pak®. This wrap-around light kit is equipped with bright, fast acting LED lamps that grab the attention of following traffic. The corner lights operate in run/brake/turn mode, and the center lamp functions as a run and brake lamp. The slim-line design mounts to the exterior surface of the Tour-Pak®, and can be used to replace the Original Equipment Ultra-style lamp. Available with smoked or red lenses, the lamp features a flat black surround that complements any solid or two tone paint color. Kit accommodates single and dual-antenna applications. No cutting or splicing is required for installation, and kit includes a simple drilling template, interior mounting plates, mounting hardware and wiring harness. Smoked Lens Fits '97-later Touring models equipped with King Tour-Pak® luggage. MADE IN U.S.A.

I can't answer all of your question.  The 69200042A makes existing tour pack lights turn and brake.  From the factory, they are run only.   This kit has a y connector that plugs under the seat but don't know if that is all you need.

I have never added lights to a tourpack.  Over the past weekend, I helped a friend with a Limited install the 69200042A run/brake kit.   That is all the experience I have.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.  Sometimes, we have to be the guinea pig.

I don't see why you couldn't wire it into the accessory plug - this is where my saddlebag spoilier lights plug into and it had run/break function.

You sure you get brake?

That did not give brake for my saddlebag spoiler lights on my 09.  It also does not give saddlebag spoiler brake lights on my 12.  The run lights work fine, but that is it.

The product listing says they are run and brake:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441837935&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374309148514&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374309148514&bmUID=1330114445606&bmLocale=en_US

Each led has a ground wire, a run wire and a brake light wire.  Don't know why your spoiler led's wouldn't be the same.
