Easy Clutch install - Speedo issue
« on: August 03, 2006, 07:48:12 AM »

Installed the easy clutch on my 03 ultra (95 in).  Install was pretty straight forward, but alot more work than the price of the kit (only $45).  Wound up replacing the rear header which was cracked all to hell just behine the rear cylinder where it "Y"s out.  Fortunately I had a spare from when I put the freedom rhinehart true dual package on my seeg2.  Everything's cool but one thing.

On the highway when I'm doing 70, my speedo says about 40.  Gonna check the speedo sensor tonite.  Anybody got any other ideas?

Take your speedo sensor out and clean it (metal shavings off) and should be alright unless sensor went bad.

did you use the hd easy clutch?
if you did, i hope you did not use the spring that comes with it.
the stealer installed it on my scoot, and it fried up the clutch.
it's really only good for bikes with 80#'s of torque or less.
don't know what it would have to do with the speedo, sorry i can't help.

How long did it take to damage the clutch? I do not like this reduced effort clutch at all.

one, maybe two rides.
they replaced the clutch for free after realizing that they should have only used the longer throw pull and not the spring.
