jujst got a 2009 cvo ultra and want to know if you must insert the cd every tiome you want a new destination

You must have the CD in anytime you change routes.  The unit will only remember one route without the CD.  I always just kept the CD in the head unit because I always used XM and never used the CD player for music.  The built-in GPS unit in the HK radio is good for basic point a to point b trips, but not much more.  I would highly recommend you buy the ZUMO 660 and have either the fairing mount or handlebar mount put on along with the NIM (navigation interface module), and you'll have a much better GPS unit and capability.

Too true.  You can't play music CDs when you're using the onboard GPS.  No wonder it was obsoleted so quickly.  Also, because it was declared obsolete by Mother Harley the manufacturer of the GPS system will never publish a map update for the system.

Welcome to the site from Tennessee! The "factory" GPS is NOT user friendly and very hard to see even in the best conditions. That and many other reasons many of us are using an added Garmin and or Roadtech unit.
