Having a blast!
« on: March 10, 2012, 04:34:36 PM »

I believe this forum, unless I am seriously mistaken, is the slowest of any of the CVOs.....am I wrong?  it just doesn't seem like we have 3 or 4 new or current threads going every day like some others have.  Not sure why it is, but I am here saying I am enjoying this bike to the max.  Only have 250 miles on it so far, and all my miles are uuuuuupppppppppddddddooooooowwwwwwwnnnnnuuuuuupppppppddddooowwwwwnnn on the throttle but I know better days are soon ahead of me.  Maybe the bike is lighter and just handles better than the larger copies.  but I am sure enjoying it.  and it is so versatile; want a different bike??  strip the stuff off.  Or mix and match or whatever.  Right now this is the biike for me.  Maybe one day when I get old, I'll have to get an old man's bike.........  But in the immortal words of Scarlett OHara from "Gone with the Wind"..........I'll think about that tomorrow!   the Porkster.

Porkypig

You are correct about the forum, but IMHO that is because the overall CVO forum is made up largely of heavyweight cruiser riders.  I have owned 5 Harley's including a road glide, and my ConV is by far my favorite bike because it is the best balance of agility/ride and weight.

I think this bike would target the younger guys with money.  I don't know of to many people that would spend $30k on a car let alone a bike.  How you define young and money is up to you. 2 of my friends in their early 40s and late 30s told me it's crazy to spend $18k on a Harley, so they are buying Victories.  Funny, when people ask me what bike I have I tell them CVO Convertible, they look at me like I told them the calculation to land a rover on mars.

The lack of threads is due to the bike being close to perfect. Its the the other CVO's that need to be modified extensively to reach the same level of perfection that the Convertible has already attained. Hope this explanation helps.

Since I am a new rider I cannot compare my Conv. to any other models, but I will say riding this bike is about the most fun Ive ever had. Nothing has disappointed. Lots of power. Great handling. Compliments and conversation everywhere we go. A lot of $ for sure, but being the only serious "toy" that I ever bought...couldn't imagine being happier.

A big "props" to the members of this board. I have learned a TON from everyones experience.

Happy Trails!
