I purchased a set of the 4" ones for the stock 4" CVO cans and was going to intall

these. Just beware that if you switch out your baffles for the Fulsac baffles.

THEY WILL NOT FIT! At least not for me.

The Fulsac Baffles where you screw into the baffles to hold them into the pipes are set further back than the stock baffles. Therefore you can't connect the inner ring to attach the black tips. If that makes sense.

I too was pretty execited to put these onto my scooter 2 weeks ago!

I'm puzzled by that, YB.  I assume you're talking about the 4" ones?  They must differ from the 3½" ones, I guess in the way that there were two different fixing methods for the old 3½" tips - one (like my new ones) where the tip slides into the end of the muffler, and the three bolts that you screw in pass through the tip and fasten the baffle in. like 65115-98B.  The other, for mufflers where the baffle was welded in, like 65259-00, had a ring with three threaded holes inserted inside the tip, so the bolts would again pass through the tip, holding it in.

Assuming that's how it is, why can't you just use a nut on the inside instead of the ring?  Pleanty room to get a wrench in to hold it..... :nixweiss:

Pics look great.  Very good look.

This thread will cost me money.

Not now, since no endcaps on my D & Ds.

But someday it will.

Dammit.

Jim and others,

I will try and explain the problem I had a little bit better. And by all means I was very stoked to add these on.

The Fulsac baffles is set in deeper then the orginial baffles. In the kit there is a inner ring that is held onto the Fulsac baffle by 3 screws that connect to the flat side of the ring. On the outer side of the ring there is 3 spots that are designed to hold a clip. (This is where the orginial 3 holes in the 4" cans are attached and line up to screw into the billet pipe tips.) This is where I could not line up the new screaming eagle black tips because they do not line up and are not able to attach due to the fact that the fulsac baffles are deeper into the pipe then the stock baffle.

I hope that makes more sense, and I hope that I am wrong so that some else can get these installed and show us the way!

No, clear as mud to me YB!  :huepfenjump3:  OK, I'm slow, but I guess you have to see it.  So, forget the inner ring.  Can you not just slide the cap into place and use three nuts and bolts of the correct allen head type to secure the cap?

Not sure but I think this is where some confusion lies...

I've installed the Fullsac baffles on multiple bikes and my recollection is as follows:

You pull the stock 4" endcaps off the muffler by removing three torx srews and set aside leaving the retaining nuts/clips on the muffler cans.
You then remove the stock cores via dremmel or what ever...
You then insert the new core into the muffler and screw in the one screw and nut provided by Fullsak after drilling the one hole required.
then you re-attach the stock 4" endcap with the three torx screws removed in step one.

If the new black caps have three holes matched to the stock 4" caps why wouldn't it fit..?

You maybe onto something there!!!

I am going to go to the dealer and see if I can install these that way. That may work. I will let everyone know later today.

Thanks for "thinking outside the ring"!!!

Anyone know where I can get this for a better price than $127.46?

I've got 3.5" Rhineharts.  This should fit, right?  Just want to make sure I don't waste my time ordering.  Thanks.

These are the chrome tips that keep peeling mentioned in this thread.  :'(

I had Rineharts once, but I can't recall if these would fit.  Something tells me not, but I'm not sure at all.
