I'm looking for information on the difficulty of installation of the Progressive Monotube shocks 31-2500 on a cvo ultra. Is it a project for the "shade tree" mechanic or is it better left to a professional? I haven't had the front end apart on one of these bikes before and I'm somewhat hesitant. Dealer tells me its a 4hr installation for them.

Can't answer the first part without knowing your proficiency level but if you have to ask you probably should let a pro do it.

i was quoted 4 hours  for each of my 2 bikes.  Actual time was closer to 2 1/2 hours. You may wish to cut a deal for time and materials.

Did you use both shims or just one  talking about the c clip that goes on the strut where you add both according to the instructions.just wondering if someone just added 1  or everyone is installing both
