2012 CVO Road Glide Gauge
« on: March 31, 2012, 08:17:43 PM »

 My fuel light comes on 27 km away from my home city, it says range 54 KM no problem I thought. 13 KM away from home city it now says low, no problem I thought. Bike jerks a bit and I can see the gas station exit off the highway and bike quits 50 feet from gas pump. I start it up and it makes it to the pump Yahoo made it.
I fill the bike up and it takes 22.15 liters the bike holds 22.7 liters.

Moral of the story don't trust your gauge, it turned out well for me but I am going to start looking for a gas station when I get down to my last 2 red dots on the tank after this. The last red dot and the fuel light on the speedometer lights up and tells you that you have 54 KM left. WRONG

LOL well at least I know for sure when to fill the bike. And each bike will be different no doubt, do not rely on the KM range left because it is no where close to what range you have.

Mine seems to be accurate but everybody needs to know when to hit the pumps.

I still use the old method.  with the 5 gallon tank I would look at about 150 miles.   Now with the 6 gallon I go about 175    Those lights move to much for my liking. :nixweiss:

I use the odometer too. Sometimes my lights are close but not always.

I always use the trip odometer, and I always stop and fill up with a 1/4 tank. Don't like to go all the way down to empty and get dirt in the fuel injectors.
