Proud to be German
« on: April 17, 2012, 08:14:13 PM »

My Mom ( She is from Bremerhaven,Germany ) sent this clip to me today.

I thought it would be nice for you all to enjoy, also would be nice if the MOCO operated like this.

Our member Kraut is from Dresden, he may have done a tour ?

VERY, VERY COOL! I wish the US auto industry... and maybe even the MoCo too... would adopt some of these ideas.

you don't really want the MoCo to produce like this - our bikes would have to suffer a tiny jump in price  ;)

It's just a very expensive showpiece, horribly inefficient and annual target of heavy criticism at the shareholders meeting.

Let me brag a bit. In my previous life I had the pleasure of owning a Phaeton.
When you order it you get an invitation to accompany the production of your own car with the joining (Hochzeit=wedding) of the chassis with the engine as a highlight.
This glas-built factory is a stunning building of its own and this VIP treatment you receive is outstanding.
The VIP factory tour (just you and a lingerie-model-type of hostess) is a blast. And just buying a Phaeton makes you a VIP.

The actual car is really very good too but a bit lacking on the emotional side. Just too perfect so to say. In Germany it is not a success because of the lack of premium image compare to Mercedes and BMW.
I liked it because of that. You ride with all luxury and amenities but the car looks just like an oversized Passat.
