If the amp powers the radio then I guess the answer is no.  Doesn't the amp only power speakers?  If so I can plug my helmet mounted earbuds into the jack on the radio bezel and have my tunes sans amp.

Thx

The plug on the front of the radio is an input, not an output.

Well I knew that now that you mention it.  I used it with my handlebar mount mp3player.

It all boils down to if the radio/xm/cd player will feed the harley headset 7 pin jack without the amp.  Anyone know?

I'll try it tomorrow morning and post results.  I never use the speakers anyhow and prefer the earbuds or headset to block road noise.

Thanks

I mounted my amp in the fairing. I hated the permanent tour oak but loved the extra sound with the amp. Its an easy install.

Tested the bike with no amp to the headset and earbuds.  Got my little adapter from the link above, bought a 1/8"  3 foot female to male audio cable.  Works like a charm!!!  (once I discovered you have to have the speaker switch in the forward position)

So the amp only powers the speakers, everything else works great but need an in the fairing antenna for fm.  Might as well buy an amp that will fit in there with the xm and everything else.  Suggestions?

Also has anyone uninstalled that amplifier wiring harness from under the tank to the fairing?  I'd love to get it out and don't mind lifting the end of the tank but would rather not have to take it off the get the cable out.

Thanks
