Happy Thanksgiving! I have a S&S 107 in my 95 Heritage. It has the 585 cams in it . It weighs about 710 lbs. plus what is in saddlebags. It moves out really well. I don't know if it would pull as strong on the bottom if it was in a 900 pound bagger,(i guess you could put a smaller front pulley) but for a lighter bike I would also recommend it. As for now I am quite content with the 255s and Fulsac stage 1 kit in my 09SEUC. Too each his own.CAHDBIKER

We've seen the 585's hit hard off the bottom in the 107"ers we've used them in. :)

Phaq2, I think you will like the 585 cams. However, once you get over 110 HP and torque I would consider having the crankshaft trued and welded or plugged as has been mentioned on the sight here by many engine builders. It would be a shame to do all that top end work and then have the crank go out on you. Just something to think about.CAHDBIKER

Is it fair to compare the results of an EVO S&S motor to a 110 Twin cam? I have used 585s and have had great luck with them and in some cases recommend them for Twin Cams just not the 110. Better cams out there for that application, they are not the same, the heads are much different

Thanks for all the responce.....and I hope everybody enjoyed their Thanksgiving. I will ask my head porter about the cams mentioned. We talked about the TW-8 last winter but I desided to put some more miles on the TW-7H because it was doing the job quite well. Now that it's torn down and I need cams I'm looking at possibly doing something different. Any more input would be great.....Thanks again

Well the heads are being reworked for the Crane 296-2 cams set. Also 10.5 pistons,Woods lifters and TB reworked. Hoping to be at 120/120 with this combination. Anybody using a similiar set up? or.......opinions on this set up?

Presently running Wood 8's in my 114 and will be pulling them to install a set of Crane 296's, The Crane's are not as fast ramped as the 8's but are no slouches either. The 296 are a smaller base circle cam as well. The 8's were good but I tired of the valve train noise at times. 120 squared should be a breeze.
As far as your dyno sheet it looks to me like it was sumping on that pull. The torque building up and then steadily declining in a straight line is the tip off.

Several cams come to mind but if the TB and compression plus headwork is done I would use one of many but a few high on the list would be a Wood TW8 or TW400, Crane 296, or Tman 625. The decision would be based on riding style and payload.

Which one of these would be the quitest?  The least valve train noise?
