2012 CVO Street Glide
« on: May 27, 2012, 12:22:50 PM »

Hello everyone,

I am picking up my new
CVO Street Glide on 15 June and want some recommendations on what pipes to put on the bike that sound great but not too loud to affect the stereo system.
Thanks in advance!

I have the original stock pipes on and have been told by lots of people to change to louder pipes but the stock pipes bark when you give the throttle a twist. I prefer to turn up the music. :)

Welcome to the site!  :orange:

I think the quietest mufflers with the best performance and price  are the Fullsac 1.75".  I have Bassani B4 2-1, which are quite a bit louder and deeper than the Fullsacs, but not nearly as loud as the D&D or Thunderheaders.  To be honest, I think any new exhaust will make the stock stereo hard to hear.

Wind noise was the biggest problem for me on the 2012.  A good windshield and fork baffles go a long way in helping you hear the stock stereo.

Congrats on the new bike and good luck!

I have the stock pipe with the cat remove along with Fulsac 2.25 baffles.  For me it's not loud enough, so I plan on making a change this winter.  I think the stereo is loud enough to play over just about any aftermarket exhaust.

I think the cat has to go.  Look at fulsac.   Go with 1.75 if you are Concerned with too much noise.  I like 2".  At crushing speed they dont bother me at all.  :2vrolijk_21:

Welcome to the site from Tennessee! I'm running 2.25" Fullsac's with non-cat headpipe from a 96" motor. I would have been ok if they had been a little louder so no worries there.
