Sound system from scratch?
« on: May 06, 2012, 10:14:53 AM »

Ok, looking for input for my custom project.

Bike: 1995 FLHT, changed into a Street Glide with lowers.
This bike has late model lowers that I plan to install speaker pods in the glove box area. Here: http://www.hardrideaudio.com/hra/products/114-lower-leg-fairing-65-hertz-upgrade-kit.aspx

I am looking to install a system for LOUD music using aftermarket speakers in the stock batwing fairing, stock radio location (just a plate over the hole now).
I DO NOT have handle bar controls and don't plan to install them. Any adapter kits to mount a radio in the stock fairing?

Question: what head unit/amp/speakers would work good with a 4-speaker system and pump out some LOUD sounds to drown out my exhaust?? Remember, I'm using the stock charging system and battery and worried about overloading the electrical system.

Any suggestions?

TIA

Another thought about the head unit, I'd like to use Bluetooth to sync up with my Iphone, or at least have a usb port for music. :nixweiss:

I just got back from Thunder beach and for the money the rockford fosgate house party set up is great ,he was using a sony head unit. But if you want to spend big bucks ,better out there, but the rockford fosgate blows away the J&M set up and better priced
