Supertrapp true duals for '09 dressers
« on: February 22, 2009, 08:44:43 PM »

Supertrapp is using my new SE Ultra as a model for their new true dual head pipes.  The prototypes are done and they should go to production in March.  They look pretty cool.  You can see them with the Supertrapp SE slipon muffles by clicking the link below.  Let me know what you think!

That sounds really nice, but that rear header pipe appears to be hanging really low under the frame.  It doesn't look like there will be a lot of clearance when the big is standing straight up.   :nixweiss:

Looks good and sounds great. I put the SE Slipons on the SEUC3 and love them.

I went to Supertrapp today and checked out the pipes in person.  Let me say that they look fantastic!! There is no gap between the front and rear head pipes, and the rear pipe does not hang any lower than stock.  The bike being on its side stand, with the angle and chrome reflections caused an illusion that the pipe is not straight and hanging low.  They truly look beautiful.

I would bet these are good performers. This design appears to balance the header pipe length.  Supertrapp does not produce junk.   :2vrolijk_21:

They look and sound pretty hot, they have made great pipes for many many years.  Can you tell me the diameter of the mufflers?  SERG have 4 inch pipe and need the same to look right with bag extensions, thanks.  Did you dyno yet??  Curious about power enhancements......thanks.

I really dont know the diameter of the pipes, but I am sure if you call Supertrapp they will help you with that.  They make several different pipes that would fit.   As for the dyno, I havent seen any numbers yet.  I have yet to ride the bike.  As soon as it came to the Dealership, it went to Supertrapp.  Hopefully, when the bike goes back to the dealer, they will dyno tune it with the new pipes on.

Thanks, keep us posted as many would be interested in numbers and where the peaks are and how flat the torque curve is.  I will give them a call and see what they say about the outlet diameter.  For the SERG you need 4 inches to fill the surrounds and look correct.   :bananarock:

Would it make sense just to use the stock mufflers on the SERG with the new ST headers?  Maybe just replace the baffles until something better is available in the market.  I like the way mine look and don't want to go with a smaller diameter muffler.

those head pipes are "words can't describe", but gorgeous.... what about heat?  I had Klock werks on my 07', loved the look but they did produce quite a bit of heat, and not the "good" heat :).  I think these "ST" headpipes have a great flow but if they create a bunch of heat I'd pass.  So, back to the question, what about the heat?

thanks and btw, great looking bike!
