timo482, I have an 09 so I don't have throttle cables to lube. However, if you have a service manual for your bike it should have a section regarding lubing throttle and clutch cables. My other bike is a 95 Heritage the service manual tells you how to lube throttle and clutch cables. It does make a difference when doing a service. There are several products with needle like fixtures allowing you to get into the cable from the top and not make a mess. You can use "Dri Slide" which is a moly dry film or a product called Inox part no 5081 ( it is more like a thin oil ) made in Sylmar Ca. 877-353-6662. I purchased both at HD dealer ship and they both work great. They both have a long stem which is very thin and allows you to get into the end of the cable and send the lubricant down where it belongs. You will notice a difference in your throttle and clutch pull after you lube them correctly. Another thing I think a lot of people forget to lube is the jiffy stand. It takes a lot of abuse from being so close to the pavement. If you lube it properly you will also notice a big difference.    Timo, cahdbiker is correct. I just what to add, throttle cables, if there black i use dri-slide (shake well) if there are
stainless, diamond or lite in color use a Teflon base clear oil. hd sells it in tube with a needle and so do most
hardware stores.
for the clutch cable i use clutch cable adjuster boot, cut in half , then force the small end over the cable ilet and
over the cable housing. If it's a braided cable use the clear oil. If it's a black cable use.... are you ready for this?
I fill the boot with syn 3, and with time it will flow down the cable.     axil

Like AXIL said, use only Harley lube (94968-09) or equivalent on coated cables, other lubes will attack the coating and they will become very sticky.
