Deluxe with Road King Bags
« on: August 20, 2006, 09:49:55 PM »

I know its not a cvo but I thought I'd share pics of all the improvments to my wifes 05 Deluxe.

I stripped the stuff off the back fender exposing the solo saddle.
Modified the tag bracket.
put a little chrome on including crash bars.

The big improvments

dual fishtail exaust from a 97 heritage springer
stage one air cleaner
race tuner
Road King bags on custom made brackets

Let me know what you think guys

Looks really nice! Are the brackets for the bags from Cyclevisions?

No everything is home-made. All the bag brackets I found including the Cyclevisions required you to use a narrow seat. I also wanted to mount them low in the back following the fender lines more closely not interfering with the fishtail tips. From all the pics I saw I couldnt find anyone making a set of brackets that would do all that.

When I first started the bag install project on project FatGlide that gave me the idea for the Deluxe, I thought I would modify the brackets I was making for that project and adapt it to my wifes bike. btw the wifes bike has turned out to be the perfect work bike for me during the week, causing the reason to get the bags done on hers first. :) :) :)

Looks great. I like the RK bags on the Deluxe better than the ones the MoCo sells for it, But then again I am partial to all things RK !   Being a Maine Yankee, I love inginuity. or is it Enginuity  LOL

I love the RK bags on a softail.  I've been wanting to do that on my fatboy, but could never find brackets.  I think you did a wonderful job.  Maybe I could buy a set of brackets from you!...I don't mind paying for a custom made part!  How do you think they would look on my 06 cvo, with the V&H pipes?
