They normally are discounted for in the $400 range.  I would go with the std shocks (not the HD's)..  At your weight and not riding double you won't be happy with the HD's..  Progressive will change the springs for a nominal cost.

i have them, i am 220 the wife is 130 and i have yet to set the heavy-duty at above 6-1/2 even with full saddlebags, tour pack, and tour pack bag so I agree, you do not need the heavy duty shocks, by the standards.

That is a GREAT price.  I have them.  I am a mature 260 LB and the BSR is only 120 LB but she is only there on short rides.
When I am loaded up for a long haul they really show how good they are.  You will be able to adjust them to almost their softest
setting.  Buy them before he changes his mind.

I have had the Proggressive 440's on since I got the bike, and with the adjustments I have found that you can change the riding performance according to your needs. Everyone is talking about adjusting to a certain number. My shocks have indents around the top that I use as reference when adjusting. Are the numbers something new, or am I missing something. Either way, I find that running them a little stiffer keeps the "wobble" to a minimum in the sweepers on the highway. It may be a little harder ride, but if I have them too soft, and hit an expansion joint in a sweeper at about 80 mph, it will get a little too hairy for my preference.

Striker, I don't have any numbers on the shocks for adjustment, just the indents like you do.   I just turned them all the way out and put a mark in one of the indents so I could count the number of turns in each shock when I adjusted them to keep them even.  I also ride with them pretty stiff and feel it makes the handling better.
