HDBOMM install question
« on: December 21, 2011, 04:04:54 AM »

Hi all,

I reieved and installed the HDBOMM unit into my 2012 Ultra CVO yesterday, and couldn't get the microphone to work on cellular calls.  my unit came with a 3.5mm jack instead of a 2.5mm jack and so i bought a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter in order to plug it into the microphone jack of the Zumo 660.  everything else about the install was 100% according to the instructions.  Anyone have any ideas for me to try out in order to get this to work?

Thank in advance,

Ash

EDIT:  anyone know how hard it would be to take this thing apart and replace the 3.5mm jack that came with it with a 2.5mm one?  and any specific 2.5mm one? (does it have to be a mic jack? mono or stereo? ect..)

Ashraf do not take it apart you will end up breaking the circuit board.

See my email responses to you. I will take care of you via email.

You are welcome and I am sorry about that 3.5mm plug that sneaked into the 2.5mm parts bin, at night during a full moon.   I did end up looking at over 300 of the 2.5mm cables just to make sure there were no other 3.5mm cables mixed up with the 2.5mm cables. The factory must have made a mistake when they packed them up. At least that is my story and I am sticking with it until the magic mirror tells me differant.  :cherry:
