personally I went to eglidegoodies . com and ordered one of the hydraulic backrests. I got it installed before the weekend, and the wife loves the extra room. I love the adjustablility of it, makes for a much nicer ride. This is an option Harley should have made standard on the CVO for the amount of $$$ I paid for it.

I don't see any hydraulic TOUR PAK device to give the passenger more room on their website.  Are you sure you didn't just get a DRIVER backrest that moves further forward and thus provided a bit more room for the BSR?

The problem with the new TP backrest is the Lumbar adjustment...it's a nice feature, but it makes the backrest on the TP about an inch thicker, so you have to move the whole tour pak backwards to gain more room.  Moving the TP back 1.5" with George's plate solved the problem for me and my BSR.

you are correct, it provides more room by adjusting forwards, I personally don't like the long reach to the handle bars anyway so it isn't a problem for me to move forwards while she is on the back. but I do plan on putting new bars on later this summer.
