I always check pressures prior to and during the trips.  This tire was still at proper air pressure when I removed it.

It has been my experience that the tires on the new frame bikes are very pressure sensitive. Being just a little off on pressure can affect your tire wear/mileage.
I always check pressures before the bikes leave the garage.
After seeing Scott's pictures, running my hand around the tire will become part of the tire air pressure check routine.

After that big bulge in your tire in Hot Springs don't tease; you've been checking them all along.
