I read alot and I guess I had to realize for myself how bad the HD hidden Antenna performs. My question is can a Y be inputted into the Radio and the Hidden antenna and the stock SG antenna. I only need to use the hidden when i have the tour pak installed.

thanks

No,

Units with 2 antennas have 2 inputs and a diversity circuit that determines the one getting the best reception and switches to that antenna.
2 antennas on 1 input will not help the reception.

I have the new hd boom Hidden antenna.   It's not too bad.  Even better than the shorty that came stock. You can try the taller standard antenna that comes on a standard sg.  That works better.  Or just load up the iPod. That's  what I do.  Try the new hidden.  It's pretty good.  Easy install too.  Gotta wire it in   Its simple.

I have the new hidden Boom antenna but it is way worst then the stock. I installed the power box right by the light Bulb, maybe I should of installed it to the right for the double bulb installation. Could this be my problem?

Barry,

On the '09 SERG, I use the Dakota Digital and stock antenna with the mast removed and a "Y" connector.   While I have not used a signal strengthmeter, it seems to give better FM reception than the DD alone.  The "Y" connector only cost a few bucks so I suggest that you give it a try.

Yes, I have the new one. Where did you velcro the power/ middle part of the antenna in the fairing?

Just follow the instruction.  I think lower right side on a flht or a batwing bike.

I used this idea (from Brian ufo-hog) it is "almost" hidden and seems to work just fine. AM was never great with the oem antenna and not better with this. Our local FM stations work great however. Was $20 with shipping from Am...n. "Lund 81055 Billet Antenna and Adapter"  Screws right into the oem mount.

My experience with the new H-D hidden antenna is exaclty opposite of yours.
Works great for me.

One of the best $60 I've spent in a long while.

76000266.    That should be the part number.  About $60.00.  Should be good to go with that one.

I have to agree the hidden antenna in the fairing hooked to the cig lighter works great for me as well.  I completely removed both antennas on my ultra and have a NGP CB i use if i ma going to use the CB on long trips or organized rides.

Iron Cross, is there a solution to crappy reception on the SG? Are there any options? Thanks

Really should not be any different than the reception of any other car / bike in your area.
Could be the tuner pack in the radio is misaligned.
