CVO Caliper insert
« on: June 11, 2012, 02:59:28 PM »

Hi,

I was cleaning my calipers and the brake cleaner spray dissolved the black coating from the CVO medallions, can anyone provide me with the part number and how should I do to order them? I guess it's a controlled part and sometimes they ask for the damaged one, etc, so any help will be greay appreciated!

Thanks!

I am assuming  you are talking about the small round ones on the brembo calipers.  I ordered some extras a month or so ago.  HD will only let you order two at a time, but there wasn't any request to return the used ones.  As I recall they cost a whopping $2.70 each.  I don't have the part number though.  Your parts guy should be able to find them for you.

Indeed, those are the ones. I'll try to see if my dealer can get them for me, they suck big time and when you go there with no part number they are reluctant to help... Sigh...

Thanks a lot and if Anyone have the part number it will be highly appreciated!

I'm not sure where you are located, but I would find another dealer.  How would they expect you to know every part number HD has.   :nixweiss:  Sounds like pure laziness to me.

From my '09 SERG parts book, the HD part number is 44935-06.  I think it's still the same but the dealer can tell you.

LOL! Thanks for the help guys! I'm in PUerto Rico and we only have ONE "authorized" Harley here, that's why most of us order our parts online. They very rarely pic up the phone, they don't provide part numbers if you ask for them, if you don't have the part number they make up all sorts of excuses to avoid clicking the damn computer and help you get it, probably because they already know it's a 97% chance they'll not have the part in stock anyways and we'll have to go online to get it.... :soapbox:

End of rant.... LOL! And thanks again!!!

Go to the following link:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.com/ronnies/showmodel.asp?make=hdmc

Parts manuals on line for nearly all current models.  Following the order through a couple of the processing steps will get you to all the part numbers without actually ordering anything.
