Polyurethane Handlebar Riser Bushings...improvement?
« on: August 05, 2012, 01:55:32 PM »

Getting an order together and this is one item I'm on the fence about. I'm changing out the bars, adding Heat Demons, GPS wiring, Dynamat, garage door opener, Progressive Monotubes, and maybe the Road Tech detector...I only want to go in there once, and don't want to regret not doing the handlebar bushings. Anyone done them?  On a SG? Big, small or no improvement?

I did it on my last bike and felt the difference. It felt firmer to me. And while you're in there, consider changing out the top clamp from the two piece to a one piece, like on a FatBoy. The one piece makes it even more firmer. Simple easy mods that make a difference.

Are you talkin' 'bout the handlebar clamp? It doesn't interfere with any wiring? Do you have a part # for that clamp?  that'll fit my '12 FLHXSE3?

I think the one piece clamp is now standard on the newer bikes.   I think the poly bushings will tend to have more vibration than stock.   I just did my bars and I left well enough alone.  I like the ride the way it is,, I have the poly bushing on my 04.  I don't really see the need or the improvement.  Just my .02. You will probably like  the stock set up better after you do it.   I  did.   :nixweiss:

I'm with Stu on this, did it and didn't really notice any improvement.

If you run ape hangers, the poly bushings are a huge improvement.  With little stock bars, not sure if you would see that much difference.

Put the WO 575s on both my 07 and 12 with ploy bushings on both. No vibration at all and like the firmer feel to the bars. I would do it.
