Need your opinion on an idea
« on: June 27, 2012, 02:28:50 PM »

Over the years I have used a cover for the bike but found it lacking or not what I wanted.

I am wondering if any of you have ponder this idea or not? My thought is to design a light cover to cover the front batwing. This would cover windshield handlebars and guage area but not the whole bike. This would keep the bulk of the rain away from the instrumentation and would be quick to put on. This would also take up little space.

Any comments would be great. OR maybe someone knows of something like it already.

I remember a product that basically stretched from the tour-pak to the fairing and protected the seat, fuel tank, and gauges from light rain, dust, or sunlight while parked.  It rolled up and was stored in the T-P.  Now if I could just remember where I saw it. :confused5:

The Exigent brand covers already pack very small and cover the bike well.  For me they fall in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" category.

X4 and they don't have anything H-D on them so your bike is stealth. :2vrolijk_21:

HD has their Oasis Day Cover, which rolls up into its own pocket, so it take up very little space.  I use it when I ride the bike to work.  I have another day cover, but I don't know the manufacturer off the top of my head.  Its a real PIA to put on, so I never use it.  It's pretty cool though, it has a big grim reaper on it, and no HD logos.

i have never un packed the cvo cover that came with the bike, but while at home sitting around the garage my  Susan made me a cover out of 3 bed sheets she sewed together I threw it on squared it up took a pair of scissors and trimed it bout 4" off the floor then took a majic marker and circled the mirrors  poked two holes for the antenaes circled them so when I use it I know what sides up etc, this is my favorite cover for the garage dust where thers no wind and I dont have to remove the antenaes. I know it's worthless but thats the beauty of it in another way, shakes out easy too.
