'09 tire mileage
« on: May 07, 2009, 09:39:10 PM »

Just curious what people are getting on the new '09 stock tires?
My Ultra got new tires today, 15300 miles. Not bald, but, I will not be near a reputable dealer for some time. Had a little tread left on the centerline. front tire showed strange wear pattern down the center (probably due to my braking)
Rear tire showed good wear pattern.
Both front and rear were replaced. My riding style is: 2-up, overloaded, towing a trailer, hard on front brakes most of the time.
I am happy with the rear tire mileage compared to my older FLH's.
How is everyone else doing?

Mike,   I was looking to see how long tires were lasting and found your post.  I've got around 17,000 on mine and was going to change it out before a 4000 mile trip, but it looks like it should easily go another 5-8000 miles.  I'll probably change it anyway, but it would easily go over 20K.

FYI: I just changed out the rear on my '10, I was watching the wear increase rapidly the last few miles, Plus the bike handled lousy and the tire was noisy.
When you get to the wear bars, change 'em.
I got about 16K on this rear, 2-up, no trailer towing.
