Just read the following as part of an AP story on the wire about an hour ago.  The school district actually moved relatively quickly as such things must go.  The kids involved got a pretty significant comeuppance for their behavior too.  And the lady involved still stands to get a pretty tidy sum for her treatment.  Not a bad ending.  Here's the pertinent part of the story:

The school system in the Rochester suburb of Greece says it will suspend the middle school students from school and from using regular bus transportation for a year for bullying Karen Klein.

The students will be transferred to a special alternative education program because the district is legally required to give them an education. Each student also will be required to complete 50 hours of community service with senior citizens.

They will be able to reapply to middle school after they complete the discipline.

In a statement, the school system said each of the students involved admitted wrongdoing, accepted the consequences and agreed to let the district publicly release the terms of their disciplinary action.

That's a good start. Some public humiliation on camera while doing their community service would be nice too.

Excellent.  Good to see this....hopefully the parent(s) of ea. student will have to be involved to some degree since they're legally responsible for these minors.  The schools  can't do it all alone.  spyder

This event makes me sick to my stomach.  I refuse to watch the video.

This never would of happened on my school bus when I was a kid.  Back then discipline wasn't taking away your cell phones or computers.  They didn't exist.  What did exist was respect for your elders or you got educated quickly if you know what I mean.

I gave to this lady's fund because she deserves a break.  I wonder how long this pour women went through this and could do nothing about it?

As my wife and I were talking last night on a unrelated issue, while we have no shortage of problems here, by far the biggest cause of our decline is the simple breakdown of the family..yes having a mom and dad.  Some how it seemed to work pretty well, not perfect.  Decline in civilization. . Is Problem number one..don't know if it's not too late? Sick..
